Darby’s Eric Futch headed to world championships | The Philadelphia Tribune

Weeks removed from winning the 400-meter hurdles event that helped the University of Florida Gators earn a second straight team national title at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Eric Futch won the men’s 400-meter hurdles at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, in Sacramento, Calif., on Sunday.

“I ran with my heart and my guts,” Futch said of his world-class performance. On the fourth and final day of the annual track and field competition organized by USA Track & Field, the Darby native said he merely “wanted it more than everybody.”
